Founding Partner, Attorney Daniel Lewis

Lewis Labadie

Daniel’s practice areas are family law, juvenile law, and business law. Lewis Labadie Daniel LewisDaniel’s legal experience will help you protect what is most important – your family, your business, your assets, and your reputation. Because he understands that both beginning and ending relationships have various difficulties, Daniel’s experience will help you manage your risks and expectations for starting a business or family relationship (e.g., by contract or prenuptial agreement) or for ending that relationship (e.g., by divorce decree, termination, or litigation). Daniel’s practice philosophy is to add value to client matters, using a strong ethical approach and competitive attorney rates. Daniel is committed to keeping the client informed, returning client calls with all due haste, advising clients of risks when making critical case decisions, and practicing diligence in protecting the client’s rights. Daniel’s approach will help you make an informed decision when facing difficult family or business choices.

Daniel’s legal experience will help you protect your family, business, and assets when faced with family law matters. Daniel can assist you in divorce proceedings, legal separation, negotiating prenuptial agreements (premarital agreements), alimony (spousal maintenance), or modifying any of the above. Daniel also assists same-sex couples with marriage and divorce. For protecting your family during juvenile law matters, Daniel can assist you with adoption, dependency, and termination proceedings, including those that involve the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). While Daniel believes in settling these family law issues amicably (e.g., through negotiated settlement or mediation), he is assertive and is ready to assist you in litigation or arbitration when necessary. Daniel’s favorite family law case was on where he was able to negotiate a solid and protective prenuptial agreement for a business owner with several franchises. The marriage ended in about a year, and the “prenup” helped to greatly limit the time and money spent on divorce.

As legal counsel for businesses & corporations, Daniel’s practice involves corporate structuring, corporate internal affairs, contract & agreement drafting, leases, financing, employment & termination, election monitoring, resolution drafting, intellectual property, water law, environmental law, and administrative law. Daniel can assist you in any negotiation, transaction, contracting or litigation matters. Daniel’s favorite business law case was successfully negotiating a consent decree between the EPA and a utility company, helping to protect the company’s owners from millions of dollars in potential fines.

Daniel has been practicing in Arizona since 2011 and in tribal jurisdictions since 2010. Daniel attended Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, graduating cum laude in 2010. Among his law school accolades, Daniel was the recipient of the Hon. William C. Canby Scholarship in 2010 and was the 3rd place speaker in a national moot court tournament. Daniel was a law journal editor for two years, editing for Jurimetrics, the journal of the American Bar Association’s Section of Science & Technology Law.

Prior to law school, Daniel lived abroad for six years teaching the SAT and English. Daniel speaks conversational Korean and has also studied Thai, Portuguese and German. Daniel graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with emphasis in Genetics. Working at Berkeley, Daniel was a published researcher in the field of neuroscience, studying brains and hormones. Daniel is an active runner, hiker, film buff and tech hobbyist.
